The RBKS Collection originates with Rachel Kay-Shuttleworth, who was the last member of the family to live at Gawthorpe Hall. During her life she developed a collection of embroidery

and lace, encouraged the crafts of needlework and lace and dreamt of Gawthorpe becoming a craft centre where these crafts could be practiced. ****
